Three Questions

Camille Sanzone
“Three Questions”
I asked for an apple
from a tree in your garden.
Was that too little to desire?
Why, instead of fulfilling a simple request,
did you bid me entrance
until I knew too much of bliss?
Is death to find me
surrounded by luxury,
yet starving for want of an apple?
